It has been a busy close season for the club, with a huge amount going on behind the scenes.

Since the 2023/24 season closed in April, the club and its team of volunteers have embarked on trying to improve the infrastructure at Julius Martin Lane. Over the course of the summer, the club has seen so many volunteers, local businesses, and committee members provide their services, which has had a significant impact on delivering a much-needed upgrade to the football ground. The club and its directors would like to place their thanks on record for everyone involved. None of this would've been possible without the generosity, togetherness, will, and determination of everyone involved.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • The front of the main stand has seen a dramatic upgrade with block paving, a new wall, and an entrance to the pitch, allowing the teams to walk out in front of the main stand for the first time.
  • The dugouts have been installed with an astroturf to provide a hard-standing area for the home and away officials.
  • The home changing rooms have seen a dramatic upgrade with new benches, heating, lighting and a new colour scheme to match the greens
  • Each flood light mast has been repainted and rejuvenated, ready for a new lease life
  • The perimeter wall of the pitch has seen a new lease of life, having been repaired and painted to restore it to it's former glory.
  • New LED lights installed in the walkways and changing rooms
  • FLOODLIGHTS
  • Lastly, the most exciting upgrade of all is our floodlights; having been in situ for more than 42 years, we have now been given approval from the Premier League Stadium Fund for a grant to replace the current metal halogen lamps with new blue tooth LED floodlights. This work will be undertaken at the beginning of August and will replace each lamp with state-of-the-art LED lamps that will provide the club with a far more cost-effective way of providing midweek and floodlit matches.
  • The new season is just around the corner, and the club cannot thank everyone enough for all their help and efforts. The momentum and positivity around the club off the field has been contagious, and we are looking forward to see how that translates on the field for the new season.
