Michael Firek steps down as Chairman of Soham Town Rangers FC, Jonathan James appointed to replace him
At this evening’s AGM, club Chairman Michael Firek delivered his annual report and highlighted the significant progress the club has made in the last year.
Following this, Michael informed the members of his decision to step down as Chairman and invite the new Chair to be appointed, recommending and proposing local businessman and current Vice chair Jonathan James as the successor. The committee and members were in full agreement with this recommendation, voting unanimously for their new Chair.
Outgoing Chairman, Michael stated, "We have made great strides in improving the player pathway at Soham Town Rangers. A huge amount of work has gone in to club infrastructure developments including new LED floodlights and upgrades to the pitch and home changing room.
We must continue to drive forwards and Jonathan is the perfect person to lead this club on to the next steps as Chairman. I'll continue to support him and the committee from within as vice Chair, alongside Scott Fretwell, who continues in the role".
Jonathan James said “Under Michael’s leadership, the club has come a very long way in a short space of time. We are therefore in an excellent position to move forward and we will develop a five-year plan working with all stakeholders involved in the club.
Our community is at the heart of all that we do and we look forward to strengthening links with local residents and businesses alike.”
